Shorin-Ryu Karate originated in a Shaolin temple in China. The art (Chuan Fa) was taught to Okinawans on visits to China and later modified and became known as karate - a linear, pragmatic, powerful fighting system kept secret from the world until the 20th century. Shorin-Ryu translates as 'Shaolin style'.
This system of martial art is taught to residents of the East Valley of Phoenix in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, and Scottsdale.
